Supermarket "Yaoko" adopts the cloud product master "Lazuli PDP"

Lazuli Inc. (headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Seigen Hagiwara, hereinafter Lazuli), the developer and provider of the AI-powered SaaS cloud product master "Lazuli PDP", has been adopted by Yaoko Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Kawagoe City, Saitama Prefecture; President and Representative Director: Sumito Kawano; hereinafter, Yaoko) as an AI solution to organize and enrich product information for Yaoko Net Supermarket. Full-scale operation will begin in January 2023.

Yaoko is a supermarket founded in 1890, centered on groceries. It operates a total of 181 stores across 1 prefecture and 6 prefectures—Saitama, Chiba, Gunma, Ibaraki, Tokyo, Tochigi, and Kanagawa—and sells groceries, including fresh foods and prepared foods, as well as household-related products such as daily necessities. To enrich the daily lives of local residents, it strives to pursue "taste" and "freshness," "assortment tailored to menus," and "realization of low prices." It also aims to create stores where a "fun dining table" and "fun shopping" can be enjoyed, and is working to develop valuable products and improve services.

At Yaoko, they carry up to about 16,000 items, from fresh foods to frozen foods and daily necessities. However, with only the existing product master data, registering product information for the online supermarket places a heavy burden on staff and takes a lot of time, and the lack of sufficient product description content and product feature tags had become major issues in making the service easier for customers to choose and use. Against this background, Yaoko decided to introduce "Lazuli PDP".

"Lazuli PDP" uses AI-based natural language processing to consolidate product information and add meta tags and related associations based on product features. This will greatly reduce the burden and time required to input product information at Yaoko, and by providing highly accurate and enriched product information, it aims to offer a service that makes products easier to discover, compare, and purchase. Going forward, Lazuli will promote the maintenance and utilization of Yaoko's product information and work on further product development.

  "Lazuli PDP," developed and provided by Lazuli, is a PDP that centrally manages product information scattered across multiple external databases and organizes and expands the data into a form that is easy to use.
