Full-scale launch of "Lazuli PDP for Pharma," a solution for the pharmaceutical industry that integrates complex drug master data

Lazuli Inc., which develops and provides the cloud product master "Ninja DB" using AI technology (headquartered in Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Seigen Hagiwara; hereinafter "Lazuli"), will officially begin offering "Lazuli PDP for Pharma," a service for the pharmaceutical industry that integrates diverse pharmaceutical master data, on June 15, 2021.

In the pharmaceutical industry, many companies purchase and use various types of external data from vendors in Japan and abroad to gain an accurate understanding of the situation and make decisions. Vendors that sell data create and provide it in the most suitable form for their databases, and users also use different databases depending on the purpose of the service. As a result, data about a single product is stored in multiple databases, and in some cases the IDs are different as well. This leads to a challenge in that when analyzing data across multiple databases for each product, a huge amount of manual data matching is required, which demands significant resources.

To solve this problem, Lazuli's pharmaceutical industry solution "Lazuli PDP for Pharma" uses AI to match products across multiple databases. Pharmaceutical manufacturers can use Lazuli's AI engine to integrate multiple databases, making it possible to analyze product data across databases even when the IDs differ. As a result, data analysis staff in sales and marketing can perform advanced analysis quickly without manually matching records across multiple databases, enabling the company to make faster and more accurate decisions and increasing the feasibility of executing DX initiatives.

Lazuli has already completed a PoC with a major domestic originator pharmaceutical manufacturer, and implementation is scheduled within 2021. With the launch of this solution, we aim to democratize product information data for the pharmaceutical sector, which is our focus area.

  "Lazuli PDP," developed and provided by Lazuli, is a PDP for centrally managing product information that was scattered across multiple external databases and for organizing and expanding data into a form that is easy to use. Using AI, it performs entity matching on diverse product master data held by manufacturers and others, and assigns meta tags and links them based on efficacy and product characteristics. This information is stored in "NINJA DB" and provided to users as "Lazuli PDP."
