Beisia Co., Ltd. has adopted Lazuli Inc.'s cloud product master, "Lazuli PDP"
Press Release
Lazuli Inc. (head office: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Seigen Hagiwara; hereinafter Lazuli), which develops and provides the AI-powered SaaS cloud product master "Lazuli PDP," has had it adopted by Beisia Co., Ltd. (head office: Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture; President and Representative Director Hirohide Hashimoto; hereinafter Beisia) as an AI solution for organizing and enriching product information for its online supermarket. Full-scale operation will begin in July 2022.
Background to Beisia's adoption of Lazuli PDP

Beisia is a shopping center chain with 136 stores across 1 metropolis and 14 prefectures, centered in Gunma Prefecture. Since January 2022, it has opened "Beisia Online Supermarket" on the "Rakuten Nationwide Supermarket" platform and has begun a service that picks up products ordered online from Beisia stores and delivers them.
At "Beisia Online Supermarket," up to 30,000 items are available, from fresh foods and frozen foods to everyday goods. Unlike physical stores, online supermarkets do not allow users to actually pick up products and check them or compare them with similar items, so providing complete, easy-to-understand detailed product information is essential to improving customer experience value. However, traditional product information registration work places a heavy burden on staff and takes a great deal of time, becoming a major challenge in making the service easier for users to choose and use products. Against this backdrop, Beisia decided to introduce "Lazuli PDP."
"Lazuli PDP" uses AI-based natural language processing to consolidate product information and add metadata and relationships based on product characteristics. This enables Beisia to significantly reduce the burden and time required to enter product information, and to provide highly accurate and comprehensive product information, with the goal of making the online supermarket easier to discover, compare, and purchase products from.
As online supermarket use has expanded amid the COVID-19 pandemic and competition has intensified, Beisia aims to use "Lazuli PDP" to organize and enrich product information on the online supermarket and improve customer experience value. Going forward, Lazuli will promote the maintenance and utilization of Beisia's product information and work on further product development.
What is Lazuli PDP?

"Lazuli PDP," developed and provided by Lazuli, is a PDP for centrally managing product information that had been scattered across multiple external databases and organizing and expanding it into a form that is easy to use. Using independently collected product information and AI, it consolidates diverse product master data held by manufacturers, retailers, pharmaceutical companies, and others, and adds metadata and relationships based on efficacy and product characteristics. This information is stored in "NINJA DB" and provided to users as "Lazuli PDP."
