Lazuli Inc.(Head office: Tokyo Bunkyo-ku, Representative Director: Seigen Hagiwara, hereinafter “Lazuli”), which develops and provides “Lazuli PDP,” a cloud product master for SaaS that utilizes AI technology, was adopted on September 1, 2021, by Asahi Soft Drinks Co., Ltd. (Head office: Tokyo Sumida-ku, President and Representative Director Taichi Yoneda, hereinafter “Asahi Soft Drinks”) as an AI solution for building a data foundation to integrate and manage product-related data for the food and beverage industry and to use product information for digital initiatives.

Asahi Soft Drinks provides long-selling drink products such as “Mitsuya Cider” and “Barley’s Orange,” and in recent years has offered numerous hit products such as “Wilkinson Tansan” and canned coffee “WONDA.” It sells about 250 million cases of soft drinks annually and is the company with the third-largest market share. In line with the DX initiatives being promoted across the Asahi Group, there was a need to process product information quickly and accurately for data analysis. Under the conventional method, this could only be solved in a labor-intensive way, and in order to break away from that and promote DX, adoption of our “Lazuli PDP for F&B” was essential.

 

“Lazuli PDP for F&B” provides customer companies with normalization, deduplication, and feature tagging for food and beverage product information in the form of SaaS. For food manufacturers, beverage manufacturers, and companies that analyze food and beverage data, it enables faster customer data analysis represented by POS data, as well as EC and AI utilization, through the collection, organization, and enrichment of product information. By providing this solution, a foundation can be built that allows product information to be linked with and utilized by other systems and tools, and for companies advancing DX in the food and beverage field, deeper customer understanding and improved customer experience value are expected.

With this implementation, the comprehensive processing of product information that had previously been out of reach has been resolved, and for Asahi Soft Drinks, faster and more accurate analysis in the marketing domain has been achieved. In particular, in customizing product masters sold in the market, what had previously required manual work can now be automated with AI, achieving overwhelming reductions in labor, time savings, and fewer errors. Going forward, we plan to continue deepening our efforts with the company.

  • What is Lazuli PDP?

Lazuli PDP, developed and provided by Lazuli, is a PDP that centrally manages product information scattered across multiple external databases, and organizes and expands it into an easier-to-use form. It uses AI to deduplicate diverse product master data held by manufacturers, retailers, and pharmaceutical companies, and adds meta tags and performs linking based on efficacy and product features. This information is stored in “NINJA DB” and provided to users as “Lazuli PDP.”
