Event Overview

As a global leader in industrial product distribution, Misumi Group Inc. has driven digital transformation with an uncompromising customer-first perspective. At the core of its strategy is not merely "operational efficiency," but the pursuit of ultimate convenience: "not taking away customers' time."

In this session, we invite Mr. Ide, an executive officer of the company, to share how the company confronted the unavoidable legacy of an "unorganized product master" in B2B distribution with massive SKU counts, and transformed it into a strategic digital asset. In response to the fundamental question, "Why can customers not reach the product they want even though the number of products is increasing?" we will discuss how product data standardization and the enhancement of attribute information directly lead to "business results." From practical on-the-ground issues to the key decision-making points that move an organization, we will share the implementation know-how behind Misumi's data strategy.

In the second part, we will focus on the challenges of product information in the AI era and discuss the future direction each company should take. It is a valuable opportunity to hold a discussion that brings together each company's knowledge and experience.

After the event, we will move to another venue and hold a networking reception for those who wish to participate only. Please join us until the end as an opportunity to exchange information with everyone leading the industry.

Joined IBM Japan in 1989. Started a career in enterprise sales and led IT solution proposals for major companies, as well as the promotion of large-scale systems projects. At SigmaXis Co., Ltd., worked in DX and business process transformation consulting. Later at MISUMI Co., Ltd., led product master data management (MDM), e-commerce evolution, and core system renewal, driving corporate transformation that integrated business, operations, data, and IT. Currently, as Representative of MI Management LLC, supports companies’ DX initiatives while also working to sustain and develop the local textile industry.

Joined Recruit Co., Ltd. in 2005. After gaining experience in sales, marketing, and product management, led the promotion of data/AI utilization across multiple internal businesses as a data scientist and big data evangelist.

Launched the current Study Sapuri AI Lab in 2015, and led numerous data/AI initiatives and business implementations, including industry-academia collaboration such as joint research with Professor Matsuo of the University of Tokyo and proof-of-concept experiments for AI utilization.

In 2018, while serving as Head of the Data Division and Director of the Data Science Research Institute at Toreta Inc., promoting the use of data/AI in the restaurant industry, also ran an AI consulting company.

Founded Lazuli Inc. in 2020.

Completed the master's program at the Graduate School of Information Science and Engineering, Tokyo Institute of Technology
